The KW Zone Dophin CO2 Canister Filter is built for planted aquariums. The CO2 mixing system is integrated into the canister rather than added as a separate inline reactor, so dissolved CO2 enters the tank already blended with filtered water. This 950 L/h model is the most affordable way into the range and suits planted tanks up to 90 litres, using the standard common priming mechanism.

Important: CO2 and Heater Notes

  • A CO2 cylinder is not included. The filter provides the mixing system; the gas supply is bought separately.
  • Do not unplug the filter before disconnecting the CO2 tubes. If you cut the power with the CO2 still connected, water will overflow back through the CO2 intake tube.
  • Turn off the CO2 cylinder whenever the system is not in use.
  • The heater compartment takes a 22–24 mm heater built to CE or 3C standard. Check the diameter before buying.

Setup & Maintenance

Site the canister below the tank water line so the siphon primes correctly. Rinse mechanical media in tank water rather than tap water to protect the biological colony. Close the valve taps before disconnecting hoses for a service.

Choosing the Right Model

This range comes in three flow rates, each in a fast start-up or common priming version: 950 L/h for tanks to 90 L, 1200 L/h to 120 L, and 1450 L/h to 140 L. If priming a canister by hand is something you would rather avoid, the fast start-up version of this same filter has a stronger primer.

Safety

  • Disconnect from the mains before opening the canister, after disconnecting the CO2 tubes.
  • Never run the filter dry.
  • For indoor aquarium use only.
