Should I feed my cat wet food, dry food, or both?
Many owners feed both. Dry food stores easily and suits portioned or free feeding; wet food carries far more moisture, which matters for cats because they evolved to take most of their water from prey and often drink too little on their own. If your cat eats mainly dry food, keep fresh water available in more than one place.
How many litter boxes does a cat need, and which litter?
The usual guidance is one box per cat plus one spare, kept in quiet, separate places. Clumping clay is the easiest to scoop and the strongest on odour; biodegradable and tofu litters are lighter to carry and dispose of differently. Fill to around five centimetres, scoop daily, and change it fully when the odour returns rather than on a fixed day. Cats can be particular, so introduce a new litter gradually.
What helps with hairballs?
Regular brushing removes the loose hair before it is swallowed, and does more than anything else. Beyond that there are hairball-formula foods with added fibre and pastes made for the same job — our hairball range collects both.
