BackBack

The KW Zone Dophin CF2400 is the largest external canister filter in the Dophin range, moving 3000 litres an hour and rated for aquariums up to 500 litres. A built-in 9W UV steriliser runs inline with the filtration, reducing free-swimming algae, bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoans as the water passes through, which is what keeps a large tank looking clear rather than green.

Key Features

  • 3000 L/h maximum output, suitable for aquariums up to 500 litres (132 US gallons).
  • Built-in 9W UV steriliser that clarifies water by reducing free-swimming algae, bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoans.
  • Four-layer media bucket, the deepest in the range, allowing mechanical, biological and chemical stages to run together.
  • Supplied with black sponge and white wool media.
  • Quiet operation, so it can sit in a living room without becoming the loudest thing in it.
  • External canister design keeps all hardware outside the tank, freeing up display space.

Technical Specifications

Model CF2400
Maximum output 3000 L/h
Suitable tank size Up to 500 L (132 US gal)
UV lamp 9 W
Media bucket 4 layers
Included media Black sponge, white wool

Setup & Maintenance

Site the canister below the water line of the tank so the siphon can prime correctly. Rinse mechanical media in tank water rather than tap water, so you do not kill the biological colony you have spent weeks building. Replace the UV lamp roughly annually, as output falls well before the lamp visibly fails.

Choosing the Right Size

Match the filter to your tank volume rather than to flow alone. The CF2400 is sized for tanks up to 500 L. For smaller setups, the CF1200 (1200 L/h, to 110 L), CF800 (850 L/h, to 90 L) and CF700 (750 L/h, to 80 L) cover the rest of the range.

Safety

  • Disconnect from the mains before opening the canister or servicing any part of the unit.
  • Never run the filter dry. Confirm the canister is primed and full before switching on.
  • Do not look directly at the UV lamp while it is lit.
  • For indoor aquarium use only.
