The KW Zone Dophin CF1200 is an external canister filter rated at 1200 litres an hour for aquariums up to 110 litres. Its built-in 9W UV steriliser runs inline with the filtration, reducing free-swimming algae, bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoans as water passes through, which is the practical difference between a clear tank and a green one.

Setup & Maintenance

Site the canister below the water line of the tank so the siphon primes correctly. Rinse mechanical media in tank water rather than tap water to protect the biological colony. Replace the UV lamp roughly annually, since output drops long before the lamp stops lighting.

Choosing the Right Size

Match the filter to tank volume rather than flow alone. The CF1200 suits tanks up to 110 L. Smaller setups are covered by the CF800 (850 L/h, to 90 L) and CF700 (750 L/h, to 80 L); larger tanks need the CF2400 (3000 L/h, to 500 L).

Safety

  • Disconnect from the mains before opening the canister or servicing the unit.
  • Never run the filter dry. Confirm the canister is primed and full before switching on.
  • Do not look directly at the UV lamp while it is lit.
  • For indoor aquarium use only.
