Setup & Maintenance

Site the canister below the water line of the tank so the siphon primes correctly. Rinse mechanical media in tank water rather than tap water to protect the biological colony. Replace the UV lamp roughly annually, since output drops long before the lamp stops lighting.

Choosing the Right Size

Match the filter to tank volume rather than flow alone. The CF700 suits tanks up to 80 L. Step up to the CF800 (850 L/h, to 90 L, three media layers), the CF1200 (1200 L/h, to 110 L) or the CF2400 (3000 L/h, to 500 L) as tank size increases.
