BackBack

The KW Zone Dophin 980F is the largest internal filter in the Dophin range, moving 1550 litres an hour and rated for aquariums up to 300 litres. Everything sits inside the tank in one submersible unit, so there are no external hoses, no canister to prime and nothing to leak onto the floor. For a large freshwater setup where you would rather not commit to a canister, this is the straightforward option.

Key Features

  • 1550 L/h output, rated for aquariums up to 300 litres (79 US gallons).
  • Fully submersible, with the pump and media chamber in a single housing.
  • Adjustable flow, so the current can be tuned to suit the fish you keep.
  • No priming, no siphon and no external plumbing to fail.
  • Mechanical and biological filtration in one unit.
  • Slim 9.2 cm profile that sits flush against the tank wall.

Technical Specifications

Model 980F (code 52 0024)
Output 1550 L/h
Power 29.3 W at 230 V
Voltage 120 V / 230 V, 60/50 Hz
Suitable tank size Up to 300 L (79 US gal)
Dimensions 38 cm high x 9.2 cm wide

The Rest of the Range

The Dophin internal filters step up in four sizes: 950F at 470 L/h for tanks to 90 L, 960F at 1030 L/h to 180 L, 970F at 1500 L/h, and this 980F at 1550 L/h to 300 L. If your tank is under 100 litres, the smaller models will be quieter and cheaper to run.

Setup & Maintenance

Mount the unit fully below the water line using the suction cups, with the outlet just under the surface to keep the water moving without creating a whirlpool. Rinse the sponge in tank water rather than tap water, so the bacterial colony survives the clean. Never run the filter out of water.

Safety

  • Disconnect from the mains before removing the filter from the tank or servicing it.
  • The unit must remain fully submerged while running.
  • For indoor aquarium use only.
