Description
The EHEIM SUBSTRATpro+ O₂xygen is a highly porous sintered ceramic filter medium for the biological stage of an aquarium filter, with tourmaline added to the mix.

- Very large internal surface for filter bacteria to colonise
- EHEIM says the tourmaline releases activated oxygen in contact with water, improving conditions for filter bacteria
- For fresh and marine water, in external and internal filters
- Use after mechanical media (sponge/floss) in the flow

How To Use
- Rinse briefly in old tank water before use
- Fill the biological chamber of the filter and keep it after the mechanical stage
- When it needs cleaning, swill it in tank water only — never tap water, which kills the bacteria
- Replace about half the media at a time so the bacteria population survives
Good To Know
- Media alone won't cycle a tank — a new filter still needs several weeks to mature
- It doesn't remove nitrate; water changes still matter
