Description
The EHEIM reeflexUV+e 500 is a UV clarifier that fits in the return line from your external filter and reduces free-floating germs, parasite larvae and green water in tanks of about 300–500 litres.
Key Features
- For aquariums of about 300 L, up to 500 L
- 11 W UV-C lamp
- Patented internal reflector, which EHEIM says makes it 1.8 times more effective than conventional units
- Maximum flow for germ reduction 400 l/h; up to 800 l/h for clearing cloudy water
- Water flows straight past the lamp, so there is no loss of pump pressure
- AUTO-OFF safety cut-out when the housing is opened
- Hose taps for 12/16 mm and 16/22 mm included, plus a mounting bracket
- Suits fresh and marine water; any mounting position
- Approx. 115 x 130 x 380 mm
- WiFi control from a phone, tablet or computer, with constant, daily-cycle and smart-coupling modes
- Booster mode for an active parasite outbreak, and an email reminder when the lamp is due

Good To Know
- UV-C light damages eyes and skin — never run the lamp outside its housing; the AUTO-OFF cuts power when the unit is opened
- Fit it after the filter, on the return side, and run it continuously or on a timer
- Replace the UV-C lamp about every 6–12 months; output falls long before the lamp stops lighting
- Turn the steriliser off while dosing bacteria starters or some medications, as UV can break them down
- It clears free-floating algae and germs in the water — it won't touch algae growing on glass or decor
- Use a residual current device (RCD) on aquarium equipment and leave a drip loop in the cable so water can't run into the socket
